G-DO & XCEPTION
G-DO & Xception are more than producer and MC, but the creative duo behind Goal Music Group. Guido (G-DO) and Donnie (Xception) met in the last week of Donnie’s Amsterdam stay in January of 2009 and began what has been a non-stop production of Hip-Hop staples since.
Having released their first three albums and one EP through long-distance collaboration, Donnie moved to Amsterdam in 2013. After only one year, they formed The Soul Travelers, a band which has gone on to perform hundreds of shows throughout the Netherlands. Since 2013 they’ve released five more full length albums and another EP as G-DO & Xception; to say they’re productive would be an understatement. Over the past decade, Goal Music Group is the platform they’ve built to expose collaborations and other artists they’ve cyphered with along the path.
2023 will see the release of their ninth LP and first double album, Inner Reaches of Outer Space. On the first half, Inner Reaches, G-DO & Xception reach what seems to be the high point of their output to-date. The maturity of composition and content, blended with a truly dynamic sequence of soundscapes make for what some may eventually consider a classic. On the second half, Outer Reaches, they don’t let off the steam, but also bring a funk we haven’t really heard from the two. Together, the two sides are a perfect compliment and make it soundly clear that G-DO & Xception are here and very much holding it down for Hip-Hop.
